Golf Courses - Around Manila
A. MANILA SOUTHWOODS
From Manila, take South Superhighway, and the Southwoods Interchange Exit. It's a 50 minute trip, more accessible than some congested parts of Metro Manila.
It has two 18-hole courses by Nick Nicklaus. The Masters course is slightly longer than the Legends, but both are par 72. The Masters is punctuated by traps and water hazards, while the Legends is accentuated by high mounds.
Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club:
B. CANLUBANG GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB
Can be reached within one hour's drive from Manila, using South Superhighway and the Silangan exit. Another 3 minutes by car after passing the Country Club.
It has two golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr,, both laced with man-made lakes. The North Course is a championship layout and measures 6,929 yards, with a rating of 72.4. The shorter South Course also has 18 holes. It has a rating of 71.7 from the blue tee.
Play in the rainforest. Spectacular Golf in wild sugar and coconut forestation.
Canlubang Golf and Country Club:
Take South Superhighway, and the Cabuyao exit (not Santa Rosa exit!). Turn right after the exit. The Club is on the right of the road and about 2 minutes' from the Cabuyao exit. Under 1 hour drive from Manila
The club occupies an area of 120 hectares. This 27-hole all weather championship course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. There are wide and narrow fairways, water hazards, ravines and sand traps to make the course interesting. Each of the three nine-holes is par 36.

D. THE RIVIERA GOLF AND COUNTRYCLUB
About 1 hr 45 min drive from Manila.
This scenic development is situated in 400 hectares of a former coconut palm plantation. It has rolling hills, verdant foliage, coconut trees, springs and waterfalls. It has two golf courses, designed by past Masters Fred Couples and Bernhard Langer.
The development sits at about 1,100 feet above sea level, with cool weather all year round. The courses feature well maintained Bermuda 419 fairways and tif dwarf greens.
One hour from Manila via the Coastal Road going to Cavite City.
It has two championship golf courses on 131 hectares. The courses are situated in a former mango orchard planted some 65 years ago. The "Palmer Course" and "Player Course" are designed by Arnold Palmer and Gary Player respectively. The fairways use special Tifton 419 grass and a finer variety Tifdwarf is used on the greens. The Palmer course has a traditional parkland layout. It is set amidst gently rolling hills and winds its way through groves of trees and is punctuated by waterways and lakes. The Player course is a link-style layout which is characterized by gentle swales and mounds.
Opened in 1995, most of its recreational facilities are in place. The club house has tennis courts, bowling center, swimming pool, among other facilities.
